The Eaton Family in Liverpool

This page contains some notes on a family whose origins we are researching. Some families we know more about than others, but we hope that by publishing this summary here we can make contact and exchange data with people who can help to complete the picture.

The Eaton family we are researching lived in Liverpool from the early nineteenth century onwards. We are interested in the following generations of people who bore this surname:

Richard Eaton and Sarah Grindley (married 1806)
James Eaton (1819 - 1861) and Alice Foster (1825 - 1889)
Richard Eaton (1844 - 1915) and Charlotte Teire (1846 - 1926)
Richard Eaton (1867 - 1928) and Jane Pedder (1866 - 1941)
William Griffiths Eaton (1903 - 1963) and Ivy Dawe (1908 - 1988)

All the information we have found on this family relates to Liverpool. Our ancestors lived in the Scotland and Vauxhall area, just north of the city centre. Several members of the family worked as broom and brush makers. We also have some information on the Teire, Pedder and Dawe family lines, again mainly in Liverpool.

Some of the names above are linked to the corresponding record in the on-line family tree. When you click on a link, the linked record will be displayed in a separate window. There you can see the family relationships as we understand them, together with notes on what we have found in parish registers, census returns and other records.
