This page contains some notes on a family whose origins we are researching. Some families we know more about than others, but we hope that by publishing this summary here we can make contact and exchange data with people who can help to complete the picture.
This Creber family lived in Devon, in and around Buckland Monachorum. We are interested in the following generations of people who bore this surname:
John Creber (buried 1719) and Joan Giles (buried 1732)
Richard Creber (1693 - 1750) and Pascha Clarke (1693 - 1771)
William Creber (1720 - 1808) and Jane Corter (1721 - 1783)
Mary Creber (1757 - 1825) and John Willcock (1751 - 1839)
All the early records we have found come from the parishes of Walkhampton and Sheepstor. William Creber had moved to Buckland Monachorum by the time of his marriage in 1752. The surname is spelt Creaber in some records. We also know a lot about the Willcock family and a little about the Corter and Clarke families.
Some of the names above are linked to the corresponding record in the on-line family tree. When you click on a link, the linked record will be displayed in a separate window. There you can see the family relationships as we understand them, together with notes on what we have found in parish registers, census returns and other records.
