The Coombs Family in Wiltshire

The Coombs family lived in Ludgershall in Wiltshire, close to Andover in Hampshire. We have traced the line back to a Thomas Coombs who married Mary Noyce in 1763. We are not sure of his ancestry because there was another Thomas Coombs in Ludgershall at the same time. The surname appears as Coombes in many records, and this spelling was adopted by some branches of the family. We have also seen other variations such as Coomes or Combes.
